I'm pregnant!! Plus, update about my future with JFA

Hello Reader,

The Advent season held special meaning for my husband Caden and me. As most of you know, we were married on June 6th of last year. Flash forward one month later to July 21st: We discovered a little miracle had taken place in my womb. In just a month, Caden and I went from “Husband and Wife” to also “Dad and Mom.” Thanks be to God! Experiencing my first pregnancy during Advent has helped me enter into Mary’s anticipation and trust in a new way.

As we await our little boy’s arrival in early April, we have also been discerning what the next phase of our lives should look like in order to best serve our growing family. We believe that God is calling me to a new focus: staying home full-time to love and care for our baby. With that in mind, I will be concluding my time with JFA around the end of January 2026. This transition is bittersweet, as the JFA team has truly become like family. Still, I’m saying goodbye only to employment. I plan to serve as a volunteer when the team visits the Kansas City area for future training events. (See "Important Update" below to find out what this means for financial supporters of my work.)

When I began my mission with JFA in 2021, I was fresh out of college and only knew that I wanted to help women choose life before they ever found themselves pregnant. What I didn’t realize was how much I still needed to learn about communication, compassion, and understanding people whose perspectives differ greatly from my own. I was admittedly naïve about why so many in our country hold inconsistent views, both about unborn children and about their worldview as a whole. I assumed abortion was an isolated issue and didn’t yet grasp how much it reflects deeper cultural wounds. I also believed that changing someone’s mind depended largely on presenting compelling logic. Little did I know that the way to the head so often begins with reaching the heart.

I will forever carry with me the lessons I’ve learned about listening well, entering into people’s suffering, and recognizing the deep personal roots of the abortion issue. I could not have grown in these ways without your love, prayers, and faithful financial support. Because of you, I was able to reach countless young men and women who had never before been challenged to think deeply about the value of the unborn, truth, and God. I was also able to share post-abortion healing resources with many men and women in hopes that they will one day be reconciled to God and get the healing they need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You mean so much to me.

At the end of the month, I will share some of my favorite lessons from mission work and stories from campus outreach with you. I hope that this final newsletter from me will encourage you and give you some food for thought for your own conversations.

In the meantime, please keep Caden, our little baby, and me in your prayers. Please share JFA's work with friends through our Stories page (jfaweb.org/stories), and if you know anyone who has lost a child to abortion, I encourage you to explore JFA’s healing resources so you can accompany them toward the healing that can transform his or her life (jfaweb.org/healing).

Important Update for Supporters: Next Steps For You

Many of you have supported me because the mission of training Christians to change hearts and minds about abortion is important to you. Thank you! While I am no longer in need of financial support, you can still help Justice For All to change hearts and minds; our team still has many financial needs! My teammates are some of the most compassionate and dedicated people I know, and your support will help them continue equipping pro-life advocates with dialogue skills and reaching pro-choice students across the country with truth and grace.

Please email me directly or call the JFA office at 316-683-6426 to inform us about your giving preferences (redesignating your gift to support the work of another JFA staff member or stopping your support). This is especially important if you are supporting my work via an automatic gift as it will continue until you instruct us to change or stop it. I highly recommend supporting my teammate Paul Kulas who has been working full-time in the pro-life movement for over 25 years. He regularly mentors pro-life advocates and engages pro-choice students on college campuses. He is also an awesome father to 11 children! You can read more about him here: www.jfaweb.org/paul-kulas. Regardless of what you decide, thank you for your support of my work and the mission of JFA!

I hope you had a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year's celebration!

For the unborn and their parents,

Kristina Churchman
